Lifted aromatics of lavender, nettle and melon with the palate a complex mix of rich honey suckle and spice. Bounds of fresh lemon and grapefruit. Good length, helped by some lovely acidity, this ‘05 is still a baby. Made by Germany’s King of Riesling, Egon Müller. Maybe it’s his old world winemaking techniques like cold maceration, natural ferment and long lees contact. Maybe it’s the purity of the Adelaide Hills fruit… in any case, it’s a brilliant wine.
